Halloween 2008

So this year for Halloween, I had some friends over for dinner and a scary movie! We had pizza for dinner and watched the Halloween remake. Then we went to Club Miami in Mission Valley and had a great time there till about 1:30am. It was an awesome Halloween! Here's what my costume looked like..I was a Sailor Girl..minus my hat that kept falling off. Kudos to Kimya for great tips on how to enhance my costume! :)

At Boomers

Here I am at Boomer's with my friends Shala and Shelly! We had a great time..not sure who won mini golfing though..I think Shala won. After this, we went go kart racing and these two punk little kids got in on our race. So one of the kids was first place..I was right behind in 2nd place. Not too bad....

Life as I know it...

I haven't updated this in a LONG time so I figured I'd do it today. Lets see..whats going on in my life? Well for starters, I started subbing. I'm now subbing for both Valley Center-Pauma and Escondido School District. I was slated to start with Poway next month, but they pushed back my orientation due to reasons I do not know about so I am now not starting there until December. I've been getting a lot of jobs through Escondido. Its keeping me busy because I'm working at Target one day and then the next, I'm subbing. By the end of the week, I'm all worn out. Its fun subbing though..I'm having a good time doing it.
In other news, I applied to 3 different districts last night on edjoin and jobs.com. I applied to Encinitas School District, Irvine, and a job in Texas. The Encinitas position is for an upper grade elementary school teacher. Irvine is just for an elementary school teacher and the one in Texas is for a Teacher's Assistant position..which, by the look of the job description sounds more like a regular teacher because the assistant would be doing pretty much all the same duties as the teacher...and still be considered full time w/benefits. I mostly applied there just out of curiousity. I'm not sure if anything's going to come out of these three, but who knows. If nothing happens, I plan on going to the CSUSM Teacher Career Fair in April thats free for all CSU Students and Alumni in hopes of landing a job there. I'm going to be applying EVERYWHERE..because I really would love a job for next school year. Subbing has made me realize just what I want to do w/my own class. I don't want to work at Target all my life or subbing and I definitely want to move out soon. I'm getting to the point where I just need my independence.
Let see..what else? Halloween..my 2nd favorite holiday is coming up! I'm so excited..I'm trying to arrange a trip to the Haunted Trails in Balboa Park for sometime before Halloween. I'm personally scared to death of it but if I'm with some friends I won't be so bad and plus I'm really curious about what its like. I plan on dressing up this year for sure..I'm going to be a Sailor Woman! Stay tuned to facebook/myspace for the pics of that costume. I actually had it last year but I didn't get the chance to wear it so I'm recycling it for this year.

My Birthday!!!

Well yesterday was my birthday...I had originally planned to have a birthday dinner w/my family....open presents..then go bowling w/some coworkers. Little did I know that I would get sick shortly after eating dinner. So I went to Red Robin to dinner w/my parents, and enjoyed my meal. My stomach on the other hand didn't agree with my meal and because of that, I had to reschedule my "birthday bowling" night. So I did...we're going to now have it Oct. 3rd. (We'd have it a week sooner but I already have plans for next week)Other than getting sick, I had a pretty good birthday!

It was very relaxing and earlier in the day, I went to the Escondido District Offices to do my last bit of paperwork for subbing. So I am now an official sub for them as well. Well thats about it..I guess I now have an unexpected last birthday activity to take place in October. Thats ok...I think I'll have a lot more fun on that day than I would have had last night.

Phantom of the Opera!

Phantom of the Opera was everything I thought it was going to be and more..a great show! :) Too bad its not playing in San Diego anymore after today. Oh well..I'll just have to check it out again next time.

My "Bucket" List

Ok so as my first post, I wanted to post something meaningful and I was thinking, I saw this amazing movie called "The Bucket List" where the two main characters make a list of things that they want to accomplish in their lifetime...since I'm still young, I thought it was high time to start this list and as I get more ideas, I'll be adding more to it....and posting those new ideas on here too. So enjoy.......


Antoinette’s “Bucket List”

1) TRAVEL!!!!! This means going to Mexico(Central Mexico) and Sicily, Italy(where my ancestors are from) as well as other parts of Europe. I just want to travel the world more….
2) Go to Disneyland Paris!
3) Stay at the Grand Californian Hotel at Disney’s California Adventure
4) Fall in love/Get Married to the man of my dreams
5) Have kids(least 2 and when I’m married and have a full-time job)
6) Ride Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain
7) Meet Justin Timberlake
8) Learn how to drive stick
9) Learn how to cook
10) Try sushi
11) Get a full-time teaching job
